Arkansas Abortion Amendment Certified by Attorney General

LITTLE ROCK, AR: Today the Office of the Attorney General certified the Arkansas Abortion Amendment. Arkansans for Limited Government (AFLG) is appreciative of the Attorney General’s decision. This is a crucial step forward in restoring reproductive freedom for Arkansans. AFLG is especially grateful to the AG’s staff, whose professionalism and expertise emblematizes true public service.

While certification is cause for celebration, AFLG is focused on the immense work ahead. “Just yesterday, we acknowledged what would have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Today, we are one step closer to restoring the freedom that was taken from individuals when Roe v. Wade was overturned,” said Jim McHugh, Treasurer of AFLG. “We won’t stop until Arkansans can use their voice at the ballot box in November.”

The organization is implementing a statewide effort to collect the required signatures in order to place the Amendment on November’s ballot. AFLG invites Arkansans across the state and political spectrum to come together and restore reproductive rights in Arkansas. Everyone is encouraged to volunteer for signature collection and donate to the campaign.

Signature collection kicks off Sunday, January 28 at 2pm in Northwest Arkansas. AFLG is co-hosting the Voices and Votes Rally, an event to amplify women’s issues and voices, at the Fayetteville Town Center. Representatives of AFLG will collect signatures and be available to answer questions about the amendment. Similar events are being planned around the state; voters can stay informed at ARliberty.org.
